So what do you want to know
about me? I was born in Kentucky on December 3rd,
1982. It might disturb you to know that my younger brother may have
been conceived on my first birthday. Yeesh.
Yeah, so you may have guessed that my parents were very open about A LOT of things when I was growing up. I don’t begrudge them their parenting style however. I
think I turned out pretty good. Really though, my parents are awesome. I couldn’t and wouldn’t ask for better. I also
have two brothers. Matt was born April 13th, 1980 and is married to
a wonderful woman named Anna (I call her Sis). Right now they live in Sparta
and Matt is a teacher at Coulee Region Christian
School. Anna is due in May and I'll finally
be an uncle. Josh was born September 6th, 1984 and he's still in college. He’s over at Spring Arbor University in MI. All three
of us spent two years at UW-Richland to earn our Associate’s
before coming here to LaX or going over to MI.
I’m majoring in Secondary
Education and Math. Though I want to pursue a career teaching high school math,
the real passion in my life lies with my creative soul. I love making things
with my hands and with my words. Sculpting, sketching, writing, and singing are
all wonderful. I do these things as often as possible. I’ve written enough poetry to fill a couple books and I’m trying to write a novel. It’s set twenty years after Final Fantasy VIII, one of my favorite video games
of all time. I’ve also written a couple of songs and hopefully I’ll
be in a band with Josh and a couple of our friends someday. I really wish I could
draw the human figure and be a comic-book artist or something, but I kinda suck at that so... yeah.
Outside of school, I attend
Cru on Thursday nights in Graff Main Hall and the late night worships sessions afterwards.
Plus, I’m in the gospel choir called V.I.P. (Voices In Praise) that practices on Sunday nights. Other than art class, these things are where I derive most of my social circle. My faith is a huge part of my life, so I guess that would make sense.
With all the extra stuff I’ve got going on,
I really wouldn’t have time for a girlfriend even if I wanted one, which I really don’t at this point in my life
(I’m sure all the ladies out there are extremely disappointed… right). I guess I've got all the friends I
really need right now. One of the best is Thad. He’s basically a
younger version of myself, which makes getting along with him incredibly easy. Now it looks like he's coming up
to LaX to go to school in Fall 2006. Of course, my best friend of all is Jesus. It's kinda nice to have a best
friend that isn't subject to the flaws of men:)
What else? Well, as the name of the site
implies, Brooks is important. Terry Brooks that is. He's only one of the greatest authors of all time. Anyone
who enjoys fantasy literature (elves and dwarves and magic and druids and such) should definitely check out his Shannara Series
(I have all of them). Another of my favorite authors is definitely C.S. Lewis. You should all read his stuff.
You may have noticed in class that I have
an extensive collection of t-shirts with a big blue oaf on them too. That's The TICK.
He's keen. Okay, so my fave five cartoons of all time: The TICK, Samurai
Jack, MEGAS XLR, Yuyu Hakusho, and
Life with Louie. All have their moments of absolute hilarity. Beautiful. Anything
I can watch with Thad and laugh til my sides burst is quality programming. Trigun's also
a blast.
You may have
also noticed that I REALLY like blue hues. A lot. They rock. Plus it rhymes. How sweet is that?!?
So that's me
in a nutshell. Well, like I said- sort of...
